Bonding Broadcast Betterments—Media Broadcast Services & M7 Group

A total of six transponders on Astra 23.5 degrees East offers some pretty comprehensive uplink services available to Media Broadcast Satellite GmbH.

The company's work has now been enhanced via a new agreement with M7 Group S.A. out of Luxembourg. The initial contract is for a period of three years and is comprised of SD and HD channels uplinks onto M7's payTV platform Skylink for DTH homes in the Benelex countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Satellite transmissions for point-to-point connections or DTH and DTC platforms (DVB-S/DVB-S2) with transponder capacities from Media Broadcast Services offers a wide reach and provides coverage across the whole EMEA region. This is complemented by powerful uplink services through their teleport in Usingen near Frankfurt/Main. With platforms on the key European satellite positions Astra 19.2 degrees East, Astra 23.5 degrees East, Eutelsat 9 degrees East and Eutelsat Hot Bird 13 degrees East, Media Broadcast Satellite can reach more than 230 million TV households in 52 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Arabic region as far as Afghanistan. In addition to channel contribution and signal processing, the portfolio also comprises encoding, encryption, playout, uplink and transmission. A seamless monitoring of the signal distribution chain by the teleport in Usingen guarantees a maximum in signal availability.

Through the platform used by M7 on Astra 23.5 degrees East, Media Broadcast Satellite addresses more than two million DTH households in the Czech and Slovak Republics as well as more than one million DTH households in the Benelux region—approximately ten million connected TV households are also covered by DTC services.
