CETel has signed a cooperation agreement with Türkmen Hemrasy CJSC, a closed joint stock company and the national satellite operator in Turkmenistan.

The aim of this cooperation is to mutually create a business environment that helps customers with their communications requirements on FSS in the region. Türkmen Hemrasy satellite TurkmenAlem 52.0 degrees East covers the territory of Turkmenistan as well as Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, North Africa and most parts of Europe. The satellite carries 38 Ku-band transponders and is specifically designed for satellite communications and TV broadcasting. With the cooperation agreement signed, the two companies will bundle their core competences and customers can easily proceed with their projects, allowing effortless management of end-to-end connections, including backhaul, regulatory requirements,  and local field support. Customers will mutually benefit from having a strong satellite operator in the region with ideal coverage, paired with a WTA full-certified Teleport located in the heart of Germany.

Executive Comments

Guido Neumann, the Managing Director of CETel, said that the company is happy to sign this cooperation and the CETel team will put full efforts in bringing life into this agreement. The region of Turkmenistan is of particular interest as it carries vast amounts of mineral resources. Also, Turkmenistan with the desert of Karakum, which covers 80 percent of the country, necessitates rural communications based on satellite.

Batyr Orazdurdyyev, Acting Director of Türkmen Hemrasy added that this cooperation will further strengthen the firm's powerful coverage in the region by offering CETel’s customer base attractive payloads for their projects, especially in the mineral resource sector. Further to that, in CETel, the firm has found an industry-known Teleport that has been awarded for excellence multiple times and the company will now realize coverage for many large scale projects for multi-national customers.
