Massachusetts Maritime Academy + ATI Systems' ...Buzzards Bay Buzzes With Mass Notification System

[SatNews]  “Within minutes [the product] provides an instant communication to the cell phones and email accounts of faculty, staff, students, and parents.”

Acoustic Technology, Inc. (ATI Systems), provider of Mass Notification Systems, announced a state-of-the-art ATI Mass Notification System has been implemented at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.

MassAlert® Software and System Integration MassAlertMassAlertATI’s MassAlert® software is an intuitive reporting and control package that supports system integration with a wide variety of notification devices and third-party notification systems.

Established in 1891, the MMA is the second-oldest state maritime academy in the United States preparing students for careers in the maritime, engineering, emergency management, and environmental fields, and operates a training ship, the USTS Kennedy. The MMA was seeking a system that would provide a safe and secure learning and living environment for their students and faculty. This comprehensive and highly intelligible voice system is designed for outdoor and indoor use, and is controlled by the ATI Control Station. ATI’s state-of-the-art ATI MassAlert® software provides enhanced integration to Rave Notification products, such as Rave Alert.

“The seamless integration of Rave Alert allows the MMA to communicate immediately and reliably during an emergency situation,” said Abed Yassine, VP of Operations. “Within minutes, Rave Alert provides an instant communication to the cell phones and email accounts of faculty, staff, students, and parents.”

ATI’s outdoor High Powered Speaker Station (HPSS) will help provide students, faculty, and staff with effective emergency communication. The system provides tones, pre-recorded messages, and live Public Address (PA). An ATI PA-Interface is used to interface to the TOA multi-zone amplifier, which passes the audio to broadcast the same messages as the outdoor speakers to all the floors in the dorm building.

Acoustic Technology, Inc. (ATI Systems)  designs, manufacturing, and installs emergency warning and notification systems for the campus, community, industrial, and military markets. Since 1981, ATI Systems has been developing wireless systems that provide audible and visual warnings via a simple and compact hardware design, user-friendly software, and the latest communication methods, including radio frequency, IP Ethernet, and satellite technology.

Universities, communities, ports, refineries, nuclear power plants, military bases, and other homeland security locations use ATI’s products to ensure the safety and efficiency of their operations.
