Established in 1891, the MMA is the second-oldest state maritime academy in the United States preparing students for careers in the maritime, engineering, emergency management, and environmental fields, and operates a training ship, the USTS Kennedy. The MMA was seeking a system that would provide a safe and secure learning and living environment for their students and faculty. This comprehensive and highly intelligible voice system is designed for outdoor and indoor use, and is controlled by the ATI Control Station. ATI’s outdoor High Powered Speaker Station (HPSS) will help provide students, faculty, and staff with effective emergency communication. The system provides tones, pre-recorded messages, and live Public Address (PA). An ATI PA-Interface is used to interface to the TOA multi-zone amplifier, which passes the audio to broadcast the same messages as the outdoor speakers to all the floors in the dorm building.
