Czech Satellite Intelligence Center to Open 


The Czech republic will assist NATO and their own nation's military intelligence divisions with a new center that will obtain satellite imagery of ground situations for observation and analysis.

Funded by the Czech Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces, the subject-matter experts will review the imagery from around the world and then provide this information to local and foreign missions military as well as non-governmental agencies for offensive and defensive missions planning as well as for civilian response to natural disasters.

The system, SATCEN CR, is planned for an opening on July 1 of this year and will be completely operational by the close of 2019.
