SES + Damy Engineering + SatADSL... Moving Product Through Astras (Capacity)

...Damy Engineering for the use of 18MHz on SESASTRA 4A satellite, covering Sub-Saharan Africa. Damy Engineering will start using the capacity, as well as the platform of SES Broadband Services, starting mid-September 2012 for Internet access in Benin. Damy Engineering will commercialize and install SES Broadband at attractive prices to individuals and schools in Benin. Its offer will also include an online learning platform and free internet terminals in post offices throughout the country. For the rollout of the internet access services, Damy Engineering is also co-operating with La Poste du Benin and Nomotech, a subsidiary of SFR, the second largest mobile operator in France.

In addition, SES has signed an agreement with SatADSL for the distribution of its satellite broadband service, SES Broadband, in Sub-Saharan Africa. The service will be provided via the ASTRA 4A satellite located at the orbital position of 5 degrees East. SatADSL will start marketing SES Broadband from September 15, 2012 to provide internet access to businesses, banks, non-governmental organisations and governmental institutions in remote areas throughout Sub-Saharan Africa for critical applications such as financial transactions or reliable data transfers. The broadband internet package includes Voice over IP (VoIP) and will offer download speeds of up to 4Mbit/s. SatADSL’s service offering also enables its customers to manage their service via a Virtual Network Operator (VNO).
