Satellite Industry Workforce Study Launched By Society Of Satellite Professionals (SSPI)

[Satnews] The Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) has launched their second annual global employee survey of the satellite workforce: the industry’s only multi-company, multinational study of industry demographics, qualifications, compensation and engagement—±SSPI invites satellite professionals around the world to contribute to the study by visiting http://www.satelliteworkforce.com/.

“The satellite industry once operated in a comfortable silo in a tiny niche of global telecommunications,” said executive director Robert Bell.  “Today, opportunities are expanding enormously while competition is heating up at the same pace.  That applies to talent as well, and our annual workforce study equips this industry to win its fair share of the competitive battles.”

As announced in September, SSPI is partnering with Korn Ferry, the preeminent authority on leadership and talent, to develop the study. Also supporting the 2016 Workforce Study are SatNews, SpaceNews, the Asia Pacific Satellite Communications Council, the EMEA Satellite Operators Association, the Global VSAT Forum, the Satellite Industry Association and the World Teleport Association.

The study will follow up on SSPI’s first workforce study report: Are We Winning the War for Talent?, released in February 2015.  This report shares best practices in attracting and managing talented people, and to spark a management dialogue on collective actions to improve the industry' performance, and can be found at http://www.sspi.org/cpages/2015-workforce.

The 2016 Workforce Study will be released in February of 2016.
