[Satnews] Alpha Satcom, Inc. recently announced the receipt of an order for the supply, installation and testing of a 9.0 meter, Ku-band, Low PIM antenna for a location in the USA—the project is scheduled to be installed, tested and complete by the end of the 1Q 2016.
The antenna system will communicate with the Intelsat EPIC NG satellite, a high-performance, nexgen satellite platform that, using C-, Ku- and Ka-bands, wide beams, spot beams, and frequency reuse technology, provides a host of customer-centric benefits.
The satellite frequency plan requires the antenna system to operate in such a manner as to provide Low Passive Inter-Modulation (PIM) performance. This requires special feed and antenna design and manufacturing as well as carefully controlled field installation, alignment and testing program. Alpha Satcom engineers, and associates have been directly involved in similar programs since the early 90’s. Furthermore, the specially designed feed system has already been fabricated, tested and supplied at a similar site.
Alpha Satcom, Inc. is a professional, Texas based Satellite Earth Station Antenna design and manufacturing company supplying a wide range of small to mid-size, fixed, back pack, and Communications On The Move (COTM) antennas for terrestrial and maritime applications.
