Rohde & Schwarz DVS—Technology Showcase + Product Debut / Demo @ IBC2014 (Event—Of SatBroadcasting™ Interest)

[SatNews] From September 12 to 16, 2014, on booth 7.E25 at IBC2014, Rohde & Schwarz DVS will present information as to how TV studios can optimize their production workflows from ingest and studio playout to content distribution by employing the ingest and production server R&S VENICE.

With the product's cutting-edge and open system architecture, variety of supported file formats, codecs, and interfaces—as well as its extensive, integrated feature set—R&S VENICE optimizes users' current and future workflows. These integrated bridge-building functions do not just give the ingest and production server its name – they are also the basis for ensuring it integrates easily and seamlessly into any infrastructure.

The optional VENICE Play GUI is also available now and is tailored specifically to the needs of studio playout, giving users quick access to all key functions even in hectic production operation, such as during live shows and news broadcasts. Thanks to its clear and simultaneous display of multiple channels users can keep a parallel overview of channels for primary playout in an A/B layout as well as auxiliary channels for secondary playout—they can also control them reliably even under frantic live situations. As the usable VENICE channels are recognized automatically within the network, this makes configuration easy and straightforward even under ever-changing production conditions. Furthermore, as part of the latest redundancy solution offered by R&S VENICE the new studio playout GUI can be mirrored on multiple clients.

Users can also further enhance the efficiency of their workflows by combining VENICE Play and the integrated R&S Spycer content control software. This allows them to create a transparent network and in doing so conveniently browse for content even on proprietary storage media and system environments like Avid ISIS® and Interplay® as well as create playlists.
