PSSI + Strategic Television... Intense...As TV's Mega-Sports' Weekends Ready Round The World

[SatNews] “I am humbled by the expertise and dedication of our project management and engineering teams to seamlessly execute these complicated international services.”

PSSI Global Services LLC, a worldwide leader in satellite transmission and event management, deployed project managers and engineers around the globe the weekend of June 1, 2014, to manage several major international events that many in the industry were calling a “mega-sports weekend,” with high-profile events in basketball, hockey, martial arts and boxing.

While continuing to support numerous worldwide broadcasts of such domestic events as the NBA conference finals, the US Open, the World Cup and news coverage of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release from Afghanistan, PSSI designed and implemented simultaneous transmission services for Top Rank, HBO, Concom and UFC in Macau, London, Berlin, Sao Paulo and Las Vegas. As worldwide interest in boxing and martial arts continues to grow, the need for these events to reach a wider audience grows with it, and PSSI’s creative, cost-effective and industry-proven transmission plans and success in managing multilateral and unilateral broadcasts has only increased in value and necessity.

“I am humbled by the expertise and dedication of our project management and engineering teams to seamlessly execute these complicated international services,” said Rob Lamb, president of PSSI. Matt Bridges, president of Strategic Television, a division of PSSI, concurred, “We are thrilled to be the unmatched leader in managing these events around the globe for our loyal customers.”

Last weekend’s transmissions included the boxing matches Froch v. Groves from London and Donaire v. Vetyeka from Macau, integrated into Del Valle v. Rosa from Las Vegas. For UFC, PSSI managed Munoz v. Mousasi from Berlin and Miocic v. Maldonado from Sao Paulo.

On the heels of these events, PSSI moved full force into this past weekend's mega pay-per-view boxing event, Cotto v. Martinez from Madison Square Garden, on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
