A long-time user of ATEME’s technology, Casablanca Online places its trust again in the leader of video delivery infrastructure to offer the most advanced contribution solutions — including HEVC encoding technology as part of the DSNG fleet - to its national and international customers.
Based on ATEME’s fifth generation STREAM compression engine, the Kyrion encoder/decoder provides the best baseband video quality at minimum bitrates. This solution has been designed for contribution over satellite and IP networks, with added value features such as ultra-fast-boot, ultra-low latency, and ABR output.
Alex Pimentel, GM at Casablanca Online, reported that ATEME currently offers the most advanced implementations of the MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265 codecs. The company’s Kyrion solutions meet market demand in terms of latency, modulation and bandwidth savings: HEVC encoding technology paired with DVB-S2x provides efficiency savings of 50%. The company is now able to take advantage of better video compression with far less bandwidth, while also improving the video quality in terms of resolution, contrast and color.
Gustavo Dutra, country manager, Brazil, for broadcast and content provider market at ATEME, added that Casablanca Online is recognized as one of the most important providers of live satellite transmissions in Brazil. After using ATEME encoders and decoders to cover carnival parties from Salvador and Rio in 2013, the World Cup in 2014, the 2015 Copa America in Chile and the Rio Olympics last year in Brazil, Casablanca Online has placed theirs trust in ATEME once again and selected the company's high quality and cost-effective contribution solutions to renew their DSNG fleet in Latin America. The ARQ support that’s integrated into the Kyrion encoder/decoder will also enable seamless contribution over the internet — ATEME provides Casablanca Online with a complete solution for transmitting live video content.
