Advantech Wireless' New Blu Gen Gains Ground Goes Ultra HD TV Transmission Over Satellite

There's a new generation of Gallium Nitride (GaN) based Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) from Advantech Wireless, and these have a number of improvements. The GaN based Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) empower live Ultra HD TV Transmission over Satellite and they provide:

  • higher performance and reliability
  • smallest form factor
  • lowest power consumption

These units are designed for 4K/8K Ultra HD transmission broadcasting and are DVB-S2X ready, providing a 70 percent increase in Linear Transmit Power, Super High Linearity and reliability with a fraction of the size, weight and power.

In an interview Cristi Damian, VP Business Development at Advantech Wireless stated, “Our New Generation of GaN based SSPAs deliver the best solution for DSNG applications in terms of performance, quality and overall cost of ownership.  The SapphireBlu Series of GaN based SSPAs have enabled Ultra HD TV transmissions for some of the largest and most popular sporting events. Due to the combination of our Ku-Band UltraLinear™ GaN based SSPA system with Advantech Wireless 13m A-Line Antenna deployed in a major DTH Uplink system in Latin America, millions of viewers worldwide have been able to follow the live transmissions of international sporting events.”

Advantech Wireless will be at SET Expo 2016 in booth number 59 from August 30 to September 1, 2016 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
