Range Electronics... Remote Resource (SATCOM)

[SatNews] Range Electronics has introduced the Intelligent Satellite Module (ISM) that is designed to....

....allow the user to communicate with and control remote equipment anywhere in the world via short burst data over the Iridium Satellite Network. The ISM provides a drop in replacement for the venerable Iridium 9601 modem with the added capability of a platform that can run custom software code for specific customer-based needs such as: remote monitoring and data logging of sensors; timely data trending reports; location and voltage monitoring; remote system control and messaging; intelligent system sequencing; and high value asset tracking. The ISM is also designed so that additional boards can be stacked to provide the customer the ability to use input / output boards that are specific to their needs such as motor controls, security system controls and surveillance equipment.

Using a 72 MHz 32 bit on board microprocessor coupled with a GPS and Iridium 9602 modem, the ISM conforms to the size of the Iridium 9601 modem to provide the user a much more powerful capability in the same amount of space. Range Electronics LLC was founded in 2011 and is based in Savannah, Georgia. Its mission is to provide opportunities for efficiency and accuracy within varied disciplines and industries seeking to improve operations through technology and communication capabilities.
