ScanEx... Getting An Educational Grip On Space... (Business)


[SatNews] On the eve of the new education year, and under the auspices of the Russian Federal Space Agency, a ceremony...

...for the opening of the first Space Service Center (SSC) school, as well as a special introduction of the space technologies school, was held on August 31st. The school-based SSC and the special classroom were established with the joint efforts of the school administration, OAO NKP "REKORD" and ScanEx RDC, supported by the Directorate of the Ground Complex Programs of Roscosmos.

ScanEx RDC installed an Alice-SC ground station at the school, which ensures operation with satellites in direct reception mode using the ScanMagic software package for space data processing. Also, ScanEx provided a tutorial package that contains educational programs and instructor planning guides divided into classroom disciplines (geography, ecology, life safety, informatics and physics) with the appropriate application of satellite imagery data.

Representatives from Roscosmos, Ministry of Education & Science of Russia, Moscow Education Department, North-Western Administrative District Prefect's Office and Strogino district municipal council took part in the SSC opening ceremony, with Vladimir Gershenzon, ScanEx RDC General Director, participating in the space services center opening ceremony.
