SIS LIVE — Driving Into HD (SatBroadcasting™)

SIS LIVE’s low cost, compact OB vehicle, SISCaster, has achieved widespread acceptance for live broadcasting, web streaming and mobile content delivery, and has opened up new opportunities for multiplatform event coverage. As well as a SD video version, SIS LIVE has now developed a HD capable unit, SISCaster HD, which delivers a full HD signal.

SISCaster is a sophisticated, compact OB production unit that integrates multiple wireless cameras, its own IP uplink, and all the facilities normally found in a high end scanner into a vehicle the size of a standard people carrier. The unit is ideal for traditional program making, product launches, and for covering live events on big screens, all the while simultaneously feeding video, recording and broadcasting to the Internet. SIS LIVE has integrated NewTek’s tricaster TCXD300 unit into SISCaster HD. TriCaster is a HD, network-quality portable live production solution. TriCaster TCXD300 is a small box that provides multi-channel HD switching, HD network-style virtual sets, HD titling, HD digital disk recording, audio mixing, HD editing, full HD streaming and more.

SISCaster HD can be powered from a domestic mains supply, its own engine, or the on-board silent battery back-up system. The unit uses the latest self aligning VSAT satellite technology to offer unlimited streaming at a choice of bit rates to any server required. It also encodes edited clips or the live vision mixer output using the on-board Windows Media, QuickTime, iPhone, Real Player and Flash encoders. A full range of additional extras, including graphics packages, are also available.
