Advanced QoS For Multi-Use Nets XipLink'd With New Optimization Software

XipLink QoS diagram Xiplink has unveiled their XipLink Optimization Software (XipOS) Version 3.0, which is now available for controlled introduction, with general availability planned for May 15, 2009.

This major software release enables XipLink customers to provision large concentrations of users, using different wireless networking technologies on a single hub optimizer and delivers integrated VPN capabilities using an intelligent, interactive user interface. All XipLink wireless optimization solutions are based on Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards in combination with the Space Communications Protocol Standard (SCPS) and conform to the I-PEP standard to ensure government and military organizations of sustainable multi-vendor interoperability. Using new quality of service (QoS) features in XipOS 3.0, a single hub optimizer can be configured to support different Logical Wireless Networks, assigning bandwidth management profiles that define connection rates and delay as well as any link sharing that may be allowed, on a per user or per remote site basis. Using Logical Wireless Network profiles, a satellite or terrestrial wireless operator can easily provision optimization for dedicated and shared wireless networks on a single XA-Series hub appliance, further lowering customer capital costs and resulting in an even faster Return on Investment. In addition to a new graphical user interface to support easy provisioning of Logical Wireless Networks, XipOS 3.0 also delivers an easy-to-provision secure VPN solution using IPSec across networks using any XA-Series appliances, the XipStick™ portable optimizer for MSS users, the XE-104 single board computer, or the XE-Series of embedded software solutions for BSD, Linux, and Windows based devices.
