Wavestream Delivers 1,800 IFC Transceivers to Honeywell Aerospace

Wavestream has delivered 1,800 IFC transceivers to Honeywell Aerospace — the Wavestream milestone was reached in support of Honeywell Aerospace’s JetWave™ product-line that operates on Inmarsat Aviation’s GX Ka-band network.

Wavestream’s IFC Ka-band Radio Frequency Unit (KRFU) has been line-fit qualified for Airbus and Boeing aircraft installations for commercial narrow and wide body aircrafts. It ships with the Ka-band Aircraft Networking Data Unit (KANDU) which has been qualified for both fuselage mount and tail mount installations.

James MacDougall, Senior Director, Cabin SATCOM at Honeywell Aerospace, stated that the company congratulates Wavestream for reaching the shipping milestone of 1,800 KRFUs and KANDUs, which are an integral part of the firm's demanding high-quality JetWave™ product-line. Wavestream is a trusted supplier for Honeywell and, as such, contributes to the successful wide acceptance of true broadband service with seamless and reliable connectivity for many of the most broadly used aircraft in the airline industry.

Bob Huffman, Wavestream General Manager, said Honeywell Aerospace is a Wavestream valued customer and the company is honored and highly appreciative of the trust that Honeywell has placed in the firm with the JetWave™ project. Wavestream is very pleased to have a track record of designing, manufacturing and delivering Ka-band products and achieving the shipment milestone of the 1,800th unit, thus solidifying their leadership position in the Ka-band IFC business.
