A 20 Year Celebration for IRG, Plus Workshop and Reception @ Satellite 2018


The Satellite Interference Reduction Group (IRG) will celebrate their 20th anniversary at Satellite 2018 with a half-day workshop and a champagne reception.
 
Hosted by SES, the half-day workshop will take place on the March 15 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in room 144B,  from 2:00 p.m. onward. The workshop will feature sessions from industry experts, and showcase the technology, processes and tools available and those needed in the future for continued interference mitigation. To further celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Satellite Interference Reduction Group will be co-hosting a champagne reception at the Kratos booth (#1700) on Wednesday 14th March at 16:30.  The reception will also feature a live podcast on the topic of Satellite Interference in a New Space World.

With hundreds of HTS and thousands of LEO and MEO constellations in place or planned, the potential for increased interference grows. This podcast will explore how the satellite industry can adapt, and what new technology, regulations and approaches need to be developed to address the challenge. Panelists will be IRG’s Executive Director, Martin Coleman, Bob Potter, Vice President, Signals and Ground System Technology, Kratos, and Inmarsat’s Vice President of Product Development and Strategy, Mark Steel, who is also a Director of IRG. All IRG members, friends and press are welcome to this event and/or to watch the podcast live.
 
Martin Coleman, Executive Director, IRG will also be speaking on a panel at Satellite 2018 on the March 15 from 11:15 am. until 12:15 p.m. The session will explore the use of AI and machine learning to help solve interference and manage future networks.
