European Digital Divide Bridged By Sat3Play


newtec A milestone has been met and more as Newtec announced today that they shipped their 50,000th Sat3Play terminal for low cost, easy-to-install high-speed satellite Internet access for consumer and SOHO (small office, home office) in Europe.The Sat3Play broadband terminal is a state-of-the-art, high-performance equipment package designed for broadband over satellite, and it implements efficient technologies, such as DVB-S2 modulation and IP traffic enhancement techniques such as TCP/IP acceleration and pre-fetching as well as encryption.

Sat3Play terminals are available with a unique patent pending Point&Play® installation capability that allows the end-user to install the full terminal without any specific qualification, expensive tool or support of a professional installer.

With download speeds of up to 2 Mbit/s, the European satellite operator SES ASTRA, Newtec’s major Sat3Play customer, offers access to high-speed Internet with its interactive satellite broadband service ASTRA2Connect.
