XipLink + Agile Communications... Xip'ing It Up (MILSATCOM)

[SatNews] XipLink has announced that Agile Communication Systems has selected the XipLink optimization technology for a current U.S. military network application. The Afghanistan-based network will use a combination of XipLink’s highly portable and small-form-factor XipStick devices for remote deployment and the company’s XA-10K product for high capacity and redundancy at the hub.

With this combination of advanced optimization technology in place, Agile Communication Systems will see bandwidth throughput increases of more than four times. The XipLink technology will be deployed as part of Agile Communication’s MST-100 Portable Satellite Terminal kit. XipLink’s technology adheres to the Space Communications Protocol Standards (SCPS), which is critical for product interoperability within government networking applications. In addition, the portability and compact form-factor of the XipStick product, which is approximately the size of a small cell phone, played heavily into Agile Communication’s decision. XipLink’s XA-Series appliances, range in scale from 2 Mbps and 50 connections for use in small office locations to redundant high performance systems operating at 155 Mbps and 30,000 simultaneous connections. XipLink appliances also support key value-added options such as a factory installed dynamic web cache, IPSec integrated security software and XiPix lossy compression for outbound web optimization.
