Teletec de Mexico S.A.P.I de C.V. and DTV Innovations have completed phase 1 deployment of DTVI’s PSIP (Program and System Information Protocol) Central for Imagen Television.
With the completion of this deployment, PSIP Central is providing electronic program guide and critical channel information to all of Grupo Imagen’s television transmitter sites located in the 40 most populous cities in Mexico. PSIP Central provides every table that is required for a television tuner to identify and properly decode the stream in order for the appropriate information to be displayed on the television.
PSIP Central greatly reduces operational and capital expense when compared to stand-alone PSIP implementations. Moreover, PSIP Central provides centralized control of PSIP insertion at geographically remote sites and is highly scalable making it ideal for larger implementations such as that of Grupo Imagen.
