Crystal Solutions... BAS Defense (SATCOM)

[SatNews] Crystal Solutions has announced that its Spectrum Monitoring & Recording (SMR) solution, being demo'd at...

...the NAB 2013, will enable broadcasters to defend the 2GHz Broadcast Auxiliary Service (BAS) (ENG). Crystal Solutions will be exhibiting at NAB 2013 in the Las Vegas Convention Center on booth SU10221 from April 8 -11, 2013.

The 2025 to 2110MHZ BAS (FCC Part 74) is under a spectrum challenge from the CTIA to repurpose part of this busy service band to Mobile Broadband usage. This would have a huge impact on broadcasters, across the globe, potentially interrupting important feeds. The industry is currently mobilizing to form a case against valuable spectrum being repurposed. Crystal Solutions SMR enables users to make that case by observing, alarming and recording local activity on the BAS Spectrum, as well as creating detailed reports. All 7 channels, polarities and carrier bandwidths/channel occupation can be detailed via common spectrum analyzer inputs on same and switchable time-sharing inputs.

The results logged by users of Crystal Solutions SMR can be logged with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) to further back their efforts to safeguard the BAS.
