Trimble Takes AXIO-NET

Providing reference networked services that deliver highly accurate, satellite-based positioning and navigation information AXIO-NET, a subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space, offers GNSS correction data for a number of different industry applications—Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) has decided to acquire the company and their service operations for the United Kingdom, Benelux and Germany.

No financial terms have been disclosed regarding this acquisition.

AXIO-NET was founded in 2008, delivers real-time and post-processed network Real Time Kinematic (RTK) solutions to a broad range of users that include surveyors, GIS professionals and farmers. In addition to traditional correction services, AXIO-NET performs a variety of data-based professional services for the geospatial market, including coordinate transformation services as well as network set-up, configuration and operations consulting.

As Patricia Boothe, the General Manager of Trimble's Advanced Positioning Division, stated, the philosophies of both firms are highly complimentary, and the goal is now to extend Trimble's position as a global leader of GNSS corrections. Trimble will firmly support AXIO-NET's brand-agnostic position, all the while leveraging their experience with professional services in traditional markets, such as geospatial and agriculture, as well as in emerging, high-accuracy GNSS markets, such as automotive.
