Skyware Technologies + IEC Telecom...Sign On ATOMs With Global Xpress

[SatNews] ...the satellites will be the world’s first globally available Ka-band service, mobile high-speed broadband satellite network, providing services on land, at sea and in the air.

Skyware Technologies has announced the signing of a reseller agreement with IEC Telecom Group to sell and support its range of fixed and transportable Global Xpress (GX) SKY and ATOM land terminals.

The SKY and ATOM land terminals complement IEC Telecom’s existing product portfolio as service providers of mobile and fixed satellite communications. In turn, this partnership serves to strengthen Skyware Technologies’ channel partner network and reach within the Asian, African, Middle East and European markets for this innovative range of terminals.

As an approved Launch Terminal with Inmarsat, Skyware Technologies is committed to working with IEC Telecom to meet end-user requirements in varied and often demanding operating conditions.

Inmarsat is a provider of global mobile satellite communication services based on Ka-Band and the first satellite (Inmarsat-5 F1) of the Global Xpress constellation that entered service in July 2014. The fleet of four Global Xpress satellites, scheduled to be fully deployed by mid-2015, will create the world’s first globally available Ka-band service, mobile high-speed broadband satellite network, providing high-throughput services on land, at sea and in the air.

IEC Telecom possesses a wide array of technical expertise in areas such as tracking and M2M, video and audio broadcast, VoIP and WAN optimization.

IEC Telecom Group has specific expertise in the humanitarian, energy, government and media sectors and, as an Inmarsat selected Global Xpress Value Added Reseller (VAR), will concentrate its  efforts in the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Central and South Asian regions.

Quicklink, being part of the IEC Telecom Group, will reach Tier 1 broadcaster with Skyware Technologies high-end GX equipment along with the latest developed HEVC Quicklink’s encoding technology.

“The addition of Global Xpress Skyware Technologies equipment to our portfolio will enhance and strengthen our overall offering in the VSAT marketplace,” said IEC Telecom Group’s CEO Erwan Emilian. “With Inmarsat Global Xpress, we are able to continue meeting our goal of providing our customers with global Ka-band broadband connectivity backed by unmatched network reliability.”

The ATOM flyaway terminals are engineered from the ground up to be as small and lightweight as possible while achieving the ruggedness and dependability required by demanding enterprise and government customers. A high performance dual reflector system and unique mechanical design, combined with advance RF equipment help accomplish this goal. The SKY terminals are built around proven, fived-antenna designs for high reliability and, like the ATOMs, include Skyware Technologies’ versatile 5 watt DRC transceiver—the only RF transceiver to be on track for Global Xpress type approval.
