Harris... LOS + BLOS By JTRS For USAF (MILCOM)


[SatNews] Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) is the recipient of a $23.5 million order from the U.S. Department of Defense for JTRS-approved Falcon III(r) AN/PRC-152(C) multiband handheld radio systems and accessories. The order was awarded by the Joint Program Executive Office of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) on behalf of the U.S. Air Force.

The AN/PRC-152(C ) is an integrated multiband, multimission handheld radio that provides warfighters with advanced capabilities for portable line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight tactical communications. The radio also serves as the dismountable transceiver in the AN/VRC-110 vehicular amplifier adapter system. The combat-proven AN/PRC-152(C ) is the most widely-fielded JTRS-approved handheld radio with more than 100,000 units deployed. The unit was developed by Harris following the U.S. military's JTRS Enterprise Business Model and operates on the JTRS Software Communications Architecture. By adhering to the DoD's open-standards approach to radio technology, Harris Falcon III tactical radios and related systems give customers a future-focused platform that easily integrates pre-planned upgrades and new capabilities while offering compatibility with legacy radios.
