@ IBC2010... Streambox + AJA Newsgathering Nuance

[SatNews] Streambox, at Stand 7.J49, announced they have integrated the Streambox(r) ACT-L3(tm) Software Encoder with AJA's Io Express portable audio and video I/O interface. The integration provides a low-cost, yet comprehensive, field newsgathering solution that enables news crews to capture and edit SDI HD and SD video via the Io Express, and then encode and stream the video files over low-bandwidth networks via the Streambox Software Encoder. Running on a Mac® or PC laptop, the Streambox ACT-L3 Software Encoder allows mobile reporters to stream high-quality video over low data rate IP connections — making it ideal for newsgathering from locations that might not be accessible by SNG/ENG vehicles. Io Express provides a simple plug-in solution that enables video/audio capture, editing, and video production input and output within a single easy-to-install and easy-to-operate box. With the Io Express, news crews can ingest SDI video directly to a laptop, on which they can use the editing tools of their choice (Io Express supports Apple® Final Cut Pro® and PC-based editing systems) to prepare the video file for broadcast before it is streamed to the studio via the ACT-L3 software.
