AssetLink Global Learns Iridium® Satellite Is An Asset... w/AssetPack-3 In Remote Locations

[SatNews] AssetLink Global today announced the availability of the AssetPack-3 solar rechargeable monitoring and tracking device using the Iridium® global satellite network.  AssetLink is a leading engineering, OEM and solution provider for highly customized remote monitoring and tracking of unpowered assets such as containers, storage tanks, railcars, and other equipment for commercial and military customers worldwide.

The partnership will bring more affordable, flexible, end-to-end asset management to customers working in remote locations, assuring reliable connectivity with Iridium’s global network for years of service in the field even at high rates of data communication.

“Our partnership with Iridium is a milestone in our ongoing commitment to develop innovative solutions that respond flexibly and quickly to our partners’ needs to remotely manage and gather valuable information about their customers’ assets worldwide,” said David Goldstein, President, AssetLink Global.  “This two-way solution’s affordability and flexibility for fast customization integrates smoothly with existing business operations, immediately adds value, and furthers our ultimate mission of improving our customers’ efficiency and competitiveness in a global marketplace.”

"We’re proud to work with AssetLink to continue our shared goal in making critical asset visibility truly global through satellite M2M,” said Bryan Hartin, Executive Vice President, sales and marketing, Iridium. “AssetLink’s long history of innovation coupled with Iridium’s network reliability and low latency are the ideal complements for taking M2M asset management to the 90 percent of the globe not covered by terrestrial infrastructure.”

AssetLink selected Iridium for the AssetPack-3 as it provides the only two-way data satellite communications network that spans the entire globe with near-zero latency and offers the attributes required to satisfy key size, mass and power constraints for some of AssetLink’s most critical customers.  Iridium’s M2M solutions serve the mission-critical enterprise communication needs for global OEMs in addition to after-market solution providers of fleet and vehicle tracking, heavy equipment, container and mobile asset tracking across the transportation, utility, oil and gas, maritime and aviation markets.
