AVCOM of Virginia, Inc.—Analyzer Arrives With Broad Frequency Coverage (Of SatBroadcasting™ Interest)

[SatNews] AVCOM has introduced their new RSA-6500A rack mount wideband remote spectrum analyzer, which offers a wide range of frequency coverage, including HF, VHF, UHF, L-, S-, and C-bands.

C- and S-band uplink and downlink along with IF frequencies can be monitored with a single unit along with additional inputs remaining for whatever the application calls for—the RSA offers the integrator total flexibility in a 1U chassis with multiple configuration options. Individual inputs cannot be monitored simultaneously with the RSA, however, as many as 12 different RSA’s can be monitored simultaneously from a central location using the AVCOM remote control software. With a custom or a simple design, RSA offers versatility.

The design is for the measurement and analysis of communications and broadcast carriers, making uplink, downlink, L- carriers, IF, and 10 MHz reference signals simple to measure, monitor, and store. RSA also provides accurate frequency and amplitude along with resolution bandwidth (RBW) selection from 10kHz to 1MHz. This is required to allow viewing and monitoring of small Telemetry, Tracking, Command Systems (TT&C), data carriers found in many satellite communications markets, spread spectrum, and Wi-Fi, as well. Variable reference levels (RL) from -10 to -50dB make viewing of smaller to larger signals possible. Zoom provides viewing at -2dB RL for close up inspection when engaging in signal analysis. This also simplifies satellite dish peaking.
