A Business Inauguration For IEC Telecom In Turkey

With a strong presence in Europe and the Middle-East and Central Asia, IEC Telecom Group found it necessary to fill the gaps in between east and west in order to get closer to their customers in the region and to support them with the firm's proximity service.

After due consideration, IEC Telecom Group decided to establish a business presence in Turkey. The country is ideally located at the heart of an area encompassing the East Mediterranean and the Black Sea regions and that nation's economy is based on a population of 83 million as well as highly diversified and sophisticated industries. The Turkish economy has been one of the most dynamic in the world for the past few years and the fundamentals for continued growth are strong.

IEC Telecom Turkey headquarters are now established in Istanbul and will have the same core activities as the Group's other subsidiaries. The main business targets will be land and maritime markets and the firm's offer for L-band mobile services is based on the Group’s comprehensive portfolio; Thuraya, Iridium and Inmarsat, of which the Group is a Distribution Partner.

The company’s offer for VSAT mobile and fixed services is based on Inmarsat GX and FX, the Group being a Global Xpress VAR. Yahsat KA and Eutelsat KA are equally part of the portfolio. IEC Telecom Turkey will provide the Group’s SATCOM solutions and applications that have either been developed in-house or by the Group’s specialized companies Quicklink for media and Traksat for geolocation.

According to Yves Emilian, the Chairman of the Group, the launch of IEC Telecom Turkey is the result of the group's strategy to establish a firm foothold in key markets.
