[SatNews] Globecomm has extended their satellite broadband coverage in South Africa with Avanti—this collaboration will provide connectivity to enterprise customers via the HYLAS 2 satellite.
Globecomm Systems announced this contract extension with Avanti to deploy satellite broadband services to thousands of businesses in South Africa. Operating from Cape Town and Johannesburg, the international service provider will deploy Ka-band satellite connectivity to enterprise customers via Avanti’s HYLAS 2 satellite. The partnership will be based on the Hughes platform and will extend beyond South Africa later this year.
Harry Tayler, Managing Director at Globecomm South Africa, said, “Avanti’s service has always proven to be reliable and high-quality, even when faced with adverse conditions such as torrential weather. As advocates of Ka-band satellite for some time we are very pleased to be extending broadband reach into South Africa through our latest partnership.”
Matthew O’Connor, Chief Operating Officer at Avanti, said, “Avanti’s quality of coverage and service flexibility will help Globecomm address the demands of its diverse enterprise customer base in RSA. We look forward to collaborating on a number of global projects in the years ahead.”
