IRG's Coleman Hosts and Presents Workshop at Defence Satellites 2017 in Rome


IRG are to hold a one-day workshop titled ‘Safeguarding your Transmissions’ at Defence Satellites 2017 and, additionally, Executive Director, Martin Coleman, will also chair the entire three-day Defence Satellites 2017 event based in Rome.

Technology has become key to maintaining assured and reliable satellite communications for both military and commercial sectors. As such, this workshop will endeavor to provide a detailed overview of the latest techniques and technologies available to ensure guaranteed transmissions. A range of issues will be touched upon, including using Data, Deep Learning and Cognitive Computing to solve RFI, VSAT system developments, CubeSats, cybersecurity and the effects of large LEO Constellations.
 
Designed for everyone from military communications personnel to satellite operators to uplinkers, attendees will gain a better understanding of how external environments can impact operations and how design and new technology are shaping the satellite industry.

In addition to the workshop, Martin Coleman is to chair the entire Defence Satellites event. As Executive Director of IRG, Martin has been responsible for spearheading a number of initiatives aimed at reducing satellite interference and regularly addresses the industry on issues such as Carrier ID and deliberate jamming.

Martin Coleman, Executive Director, IRG, explained that as technology advances, the range of solutions now available to mitigate satellite interference grows. This workshop will give attendees a glance into the complex future of satellite interference in the hope that it will offer clarity with regards to the extent of both available and developing solutions.
