Broadwing Communications Hires Founder and Former President of Vyvx

Austin, TX /July  17, 2003/Satnews/ Broadwing Communications, Inc., an Austin-based data and telecommunications services company, announced today that they have hired Delwin L. Bothof as a strategic consultant to help the company expand its video distribution business with cable and broadcast networks, sports leagues, and other programming sources.

"We have already made inroads with the media industry, but we have the capacity and the infrastructure to do much more," said Mark F. Spagnolo, Broadwing's Chief Executive Officer. "Del's deep experience with and connections to this industry will be critical to our future success. We're thrilled to have him as part of the team."

From 1989 to 1997, Bothof launched and served as the first president of Vyvx, a leading international provider of integrated fiber-optic, satellite, and teleport video transmission services. From 1997 to 2001, he served as President of Domestic Strategic Investments for Williams Communications. Since 2001, he has worked with Strategic Media Group, consulting with a number of companies pursuing opportunities tied to the media industry.
