Radyne ComStream Elects Michael A. Smith to Its Board of Directors

Phoenix/June 23/Satnews Daily/ Radyne ComStream Inc. said Michael A. Smith has been elected to its Board of Directors. 

Smith retired from Honeywell in 2001 as the President and Chief Executive Officer of its Aerospace Electronics Systems business, the leading supplier of avionics and related electronics systems and services to the aerospace industry, a $4 billion, 18,000-employee, worldwide enterprise. 

He was instrumental in Honeywell's acquisition of Sperry, merger with AlliedSignal and the attempted merger with GE. In 1974, Smith joined Sperry Corp., which was acquired by Honeywell in 1986. Smith holds a Bachelors of Business Management from Arizona State University.

"Mike is a seasoned executive who has extensive experience in operating a business, general management and serving as an officer of a large public corporation," said Bob Fitting, Radyne ComStream's CEO. "His experience in fast moving electronics technology businesses makes him a valuable addition to our Board."

Radyne ComStream designs, manufactures, sells, integrates and installs products, systems and software used for the transmission and reception of data and video over satellite, microwave and cable communication networks.
