New Skies Appoints New Vice President to Lead Asia-Pacific Sales Singapore/May 20, 2003/Satnews Daily/ — New Skies Satellites N.V. has appointed Maurice Liu to the position of vice president of sales for the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, Maurice will direct the sales of New Skies' satellite capacity and services throughout the Asia-Pacific region, as well as manages the company's regional offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing. Maurice also provides high-level account management and customer support for a number of customers. He succeeds Dr. Eui Koh, New Skies' vice president of sales for the Asia Pacific since the company's inception in late 1998, who is leaving New Skies to retire. Maurice joined New Skies as a senior sales director for the Asia Pacific region in late 2002. His appointment coincided with the launch of New Skies' NSS-6 pan-Asian satellite, the repositioning of NSS-5 for enhanced Pacific Ocean region coverage, and the opening of offices in Beijing and Hong Kong. Before New Skies, Maurice was senior sales director for the Greater China and Southeast Asia territories for PanAmSat Corp. He brings to New Skies a wealth of satellite sales experience, having successfully closed a number of major deals with some of the region's most prestigious video and broadcast companies.
