Kim Hatamiya Joins Sony Pictures
Television International as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing With 20 years of experience in the entertainment and new media industries, Hatamiya brings extensive expertise in marketing for international television ventures, Internet content and children's television. Hatamiya has launched and managed international channels, including Canal Fox, Fox Kids U.K. and Fox Kids Latin America. Hatamiya also has in-depth experience with new product launches and business development. Hatamiya will lead the marketing efforts in support of SPTI's three lines of business, which consist of program distribution and licensing of motion picture and television product, international networks and local production for the global marketplace. Hatamiya is in charge of overall marketing at SPTI, including all advertising, publicity, promotions, creative services and research. Charged with overseeing the marketing efforts of all SPTI regional offices around the world, Hatamiya and her team will continue to collaborate with SPTI's worldwide television network clients to maximize marketing and promotional opportunities for the studio's programming that airs on those outlets. She will be based in Culver City. Most recently, Hatamiya served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Television and Film for Mindrocket Media/JP Kids, Inc., an independent multi-platform children's and family media company and the producer of the popular series "The Famous Jett Jackson" on The Disney Channel. She was based in Los Angeles. Prior to this, Hatamiya was named Senior Vice President of Marketing at Passport New Media, Inc., where she oversaw the launch and branding of the company's flagship product Your Own World (tm), a safe internet-based service for children. Before joining Passport, Hatamiya served as Senior Vice President of Fox Kids Worldwide, where she was responsible for launching Fox Kids U.K. and Fox Kids Latin America. Prior to Fox Kids Worldwide, Hatamiya was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Canal Fox, Fox Television's cable network in Latin America. Under Hatamiya's leadership, Canal Fox became the number one most-viewed cable and satellite channel in Latin America and launched the very first foreign language version of a Fox Kids programming block. Hatamiya has also served as Director of International Operations for Home Box Office, planning the launch of new versions of HBO around the world. She also held the post of Vice President of Film and Television Business Affairs at Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment.
