Measat-3 Satellite to Distribute History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, May 30, 2007 - Satnews Daily - Measat Satellite Systems Sdn Bhd has signed an agreement with AETN All Asia Networks Pte, Ltd (AAAN), a joint venture of A&E Television Networks and Astro All Asia Networks, for the distribution of The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network.
The channels will be distributed to pay TV operators across Hong Kong, Taiwan and South East Asia on the recently launched Measat-3 satellite. AAAN will launch The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network throughout the region in Q2 and Q3 2007.
“Measat-3 was specially designed as a high quality video distribution platform to meet the demanding needs of international broadcasters,” said Terry Bleakley, Measat’s vice president – sales and marketing.

Measat is a supplier of satellite communication services to Asian broadcasters, DTH operators and telecom operators. The Measat satellite fleet comprising Measat-1, Measat-2 and Measat-3 satellite provides services to over 100 countries, representing more than 70 percent of the world’s population. The fleet will be further enhanced in 2008 with the launch of the Measat-1R satellite.
Using facilities at the Measat Teleport and Broadcast Center, and working with a group of media partners including Astro, Pacific Century Matrix and STT, Measat provides a complete range of broadcast services including video playout, up-linking, and video turnaround to and from the key European and North American markets.
