Radyne Receives Ka-Band and Modulator Orders from DirecTV
PHOENIX, AZ, April 24, 2007 - Satnews Daily - Radyne Corporation said its Radyne and Xicom Technology Divisions received follow-on orders for over $6.7 million for Ka-band power amplifiers and DM-240 satellite modulators to be used in DirecTV's high definition TV expansion. The orders are shipping during the first three quarters of 2007.
The Radyne and Xicom product will be installed at new facilities that will support DirecTV's expansion of its high definition TV (HDTV) offering to customers. All of the orders represent follow on business awarded to Radyne and Xicom as a result of their proven reliability and customer support. Radyne's DM-240 satellite modulator was one of the first to market featuring DVB-S2 technology.
This standard saves up to 30 percent of transponder bandwidth when compared with the standard it replaces. Radyne has experience with this emerging standard and offers a broad variety of interfaces and features for DVB-S2 modulation. These orders further reinforce Xicom Technology's reputation a leader in Ka-band amplifier technology. Ka-band amplifiers represent an emerging market where customers enjoy greater bandwidth than available in competing technologies.
"These repeat orders are acknowledgement that Radyne is winning in the marketplace through superior customer service and product support," said Myron Wagner, Radyne's CEO. "We are delighted to be a critical part of DirecTV's important effort to be a leading distributor of high definition content."
