Intelsat Provides Key Satellite Services for SPACECONNECTION and GlobeCast

WASHINGTON DC, April 17, 2007 - Satnews Daily - The SPACECONNECTION, Inc., a provider of occasional use (OU) space segment capacity, and GlobeCast, a content management and worldwide transmission services provider, have signed major deals with Intelsat in support of their worldwide operations.
Intelsat and SPACECONNECTION entered into a definitive agreement for global OU space segment capacity. SPACECONNECTION is extending its relationship for space segment capacity to support satellite newsgathering and TV production services worldwide. SPACECONNECTION is a leading independent provider of C-Band and Ku-Band satellite space segment. With a satellite transponder inventory assembled from capacity from all the major satellite operators, SPACECONNECTION offers space segment, both analog and digital, in time increments from five minutes to 15 years and in increments from 100 KHz to 36 MHz or greater.

In the highly competitive OU market, Intelsat continues to offer what is probably the largest OU inventory in the world, packaged with an extensive stable of teleport gateways and an enhanced fiber optic network to support the needs of television programmers, news agencies and broadcasters worldwide.
GlobeCast has selected Intelsat’s IS-9 and IS-904 satellites for contribution and distribution of the Cricket World Cup 2007, including all 51 matches. GlobeCast selected Intelsat’s satellites for their wide coverage of the Atlantic and Indian Ocean regions. In all, more than 600 hours of Cricket matches will be delivered.
GlobeCast’s ad-hoc special events group was contracted by the Global Cricket Corporation, on behalf of the International Cricket Council (ICC), to provide SNG services and distribution of the event worldwide. Matches are carried from the venues via the IS-9 satellite to GlobeCast’s teleport in London for turnaround onto Intelsat’s IS-904 for global distribution to broadcast rightsholders.
