RAMTelecom and SkyPort International Form Alliance To Expand North American Service Access and Coverage

OTTAWA, Ontario, Jan. 11, 2007/Satnews Daily/ — RAMTelecom Inc. (TSX-V:RTC), a satellite service provider delivering flexible, scalable solutions for broadband data and voice business communications, has formed a strategic alliance with SkyPort International Inc. of Houston, TX, that will allow both companies to better meet the communications needs of their customers.

SkyPort is a global communications carrier providing broadband satellite and terrestrial communication services. It operates a Network Operations Center and teleport at the highly-secure Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston. RAMTelecom has a similar Network Operations Center and secure teleport in Ottawa. Both companies serve a broad mix of government and industry customers who require reliable and secure broadband, data and voice communications, often from remote locations.

The companies said the two teleports will be connected by fiber-optic cable. This will provide full backup for each facility and will further secure each company’s communications service offerings by providing complete network redundancy for customers using either system.

In addition, customers will have greater access to and coverage for managed, secure business communications services, anywhere in North America. As a result, medium and large enterprise customers in Canada and the U.S. will be able to extend their satellite-based voice, video, and data broadband communications wherever their business takes them.

“We have identified unique and positive synergies between our two companies that will allow us to use each other’s satellite footprints and gateway technologies for the benefit of our customers,” says Gilles Desmarais, president and chief operating officer of RAMTelecom.

He said the alliance gives the two companies’ our customers access to multiple satellite-based, broadband communications resources and services. It also enhances each company’s sales and customer support teams to ensure customers have the support they need to maintain, improve and extend their business communications networks quickly.

Roger Klotz, president and CEO of SkyPort, said RAMTelecom has a proven satellite service, ideally suited for large corporate and government clients. He said their combined engineering and sales resources provides for an excellent working relationship.
