Comtech Receives $2.6-M to Support the Expansion of Military Satellite Communications in Brazil

 

MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 10, 2007/Satnews Daily/ — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) has announced that its Orlando, Florida-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems, Inc., has received $2.6 million of orders for equipment and services in support of the expansion of the Brazilian military satellite communications system.

 

Comtech Systems will provide equipment and services to support two satellite hub stations in Brazil. Comtech Systems will also be responsible for the installation, activation and integration of the X-band satellite earth stations that will expand the existing satellite communications system.

 

Fred Kornberg, president and CEO, said the project to upgrade the Brazilian military communications system illustrates Comtech’s diverse product base and support capabilities.

 

Comtech Systems specializes in system design, integration, supply and commissioning of turnkey communication systems including over-the-horizon microwave, line-of-sight microwave and satellite.
