GeoEye Promotes Angela Galyean to Vice President of Human Resources

 

DULLES, Va., Dec. 4, 2006/Satnews Daily/ ― Satellite imaging company GeoEye (NASDAQ:GEOY) has promoted Angela Galyean to the position of vice president of Human Resources.

 

Galyean joined GeoEye in 2002 as director of Human Resources. She has over 20 years of industry experience and is responsible for managing the company's employee relations, recruitment and retention; health and welfare programs and organizational effectiveness.

 

Prior to joining GeoEye, Galyean was a human resources manager at InfoCruiser, Inc. Before that she held various managerial positions with a leading developer and manufacturer of space and rocket systems. Prior to that, Galyean managed employee relations in three states for a financial institution which was later acquired by Wachovia Bank.

 

Galyean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a minor in Human Resources from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and received her Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2001.

 

GeoEye is also promoting William Warren from vice president and general counsel to senior vice president and general counsel. He joined GeoEye in January 2004 and is responsible for all corporate legal guidance and counseling, contracts management and human resources.

 

Warren has over 13 years of private practice and commercial legal expertise in securities compliance; commercial litigation; mergers and acquisitions; intellectual property and employment law for clients in high technology businesses, including satellites and communications.

 

Prior to joining GeoEye, Warren practiced law in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. offices of Latham & Watkins LLP, an international law firm, for several years. Before that, Mr. Warren was an associate in the New York office of Baker & Botts, L.L.P. Warren received his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and is admitted to practice in Virginia, New York and the District of Columbia.
