LANHAM, Md., Nov. 14, 2006/Satnews Daily/ ― AsiaSat has awarded Integral Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISYS) a contract to add operations of the AsiaSat 5 satellite (a Loral FS1300 class satellite) to AsiaSat's existing satellite control system.
Integral Systems said this will be the company’s second contract with AsiaSat and will expand AsiaSat's EPOCH IPS (Integrated Product Suite) control system to operate a total of four AsiaSat satellites that are made by three different satellite manufacturers.
AsiaSat's state-of-the-art satellite control system is based on Integral Systems' EPOCH IPS, which consolidate operations of mixed fleets of satellites. The EPOCH IPS provides AsiaSat an easy-to-use, fully integrated, multi-satellite control center for all four satellites of the AsiaSat fleet. The single platform system simplifies AsiaSat's satellite operations, and in turn reduces operating costs.
Integral Systems said its EPOCH IPS is one of the most widely used satellite control system, having been selected to support the operations of over 30 SS/L FS1300 class satellites, over 125 GEO communications satellite, and well over 200 satellite programs in total (including LEO and deep space missions).
