PARIS, Nov. 8, 2006/Satnews Daily/ ― Canal+ has tapped Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) to broadcast its channels produced by the Canal+ Group from Eutelsat’s flagship Hot Bird broadcast neighborhood at 13 degrees East.

The broadcasting agreement between the Canal+ Group and Eutelsat covers the lease of 18 Mb/s of bandwidth on Eutelsat's Hot Bird satellite, which was launched on  March 11. Eutelsat is also responsible for transmitting the encrypted channels from the Canal+ digital broadcast centre at Boulogne Billancourt, near Paris, to Eutelsat's teleport at Rambouillet.

The signals are uplinked from Rambouillet to Hot Bird 7A in a DVB multiplex operated by Eutelsat.
