WCC Launches Global Satellite Tracking and Security Solution Using Iridium Short-Burst Data Service

CHANDLER, Ariz., Nov. 2, 2006/Satnews Daily/ — In response to the real-time logistic, tracking and safety needs of companies with widely dispersed assets or teams, World Communications Center (WCC) has launched the SBD Pro satellite tracking and security solution.

The SBD Pro satellite terminal gathers and transmits remote data globally using Iridium Satellite short burst service to minimize service costs. Using the strongest possible online security and encryption via the Internet, the terminal transmits data at customer determined intervals such as every 20 seconds, every minute or even once a day. The SBD Pro can send alert or alarm notifications via email, fax, phone or pager.

The real-time data is easily accessed and configured through an online software suite, thus requiring no onsite software installation or maintenance. Suggested uses include:

Distress messaging with GPS coordinates, Asset tracking, Sensor-event notification, Waypoint marking, Remote Sensor monitoring, and Geo-fencing to restrict the movement of a vehicle or object within a specified area.

“WCC’s combination of industry leading online security and encryption, permission-based software features, Iridium’s 100 percent global coverage and our 24 x 7 customer support provides users with an industry best product for monitoring and tracking,” says Sam Romey, president of WCC.

He added the SBD Pro is ideal for maritime ship management, military, global automotive and equipment fleet logistics, or any application where equipment locations are needed. “All users are assured of secure coverage, day or night, via a robust bundled package of hardware, software and service that works on a truly global basis,” he added.
