DataPath Acquires Industrial Logic Corp. to Expand its Network Management and Control Software Solutions |

DULUTH, Ga., Oct. 19, 2006/Satnews Daily/ ― DataPath, Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire all of the stock of ILC for $21 million in cash. ILC is a privately-held Atlanta-based provider of network management software for monitoring, controlling and automating hybrid communications networks. ILC generated revenues of $12 million in 2005.
DataPath said the transaction is subject to certain closing conditions, and is anticipated to close within 45 days. It added the acquisition would support DataPath's strategy to expand its software solutions.
ILC's MaxView(R) software enables management, control and automation of satellite, broadcast, Internet protocol, IT, optical, wireless, audio/video, synchronous optical network/synchronous digital hierarchy, radio, microwave, facilities and other systems from one console.
Using this consolidated control, MaxView performs end-to-end provisioning, event scheduling and activation, self-healing automation, simplified new device integration, alarm correlation, carrier monitoring, trouble ticketing, spectrum planning and tailored reporting. More than 600 MaxView systems have been deployed around the world.
After the expected closing of the agreement, DataPath said it plans to continue to support and grow ILC's base of 400 global customers, including broadcast segment leaders such as DirecTV, Loral Skynet, NBC and PBS, as well as the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Under the agreement, ILC would be a wholly-owned subsidiary of DataPath. The approximately 70 Atlanta-based employees of ILC would integrate with DataPath's Software Business Unit in Duluth. Ga. DataPath currently has more than 500 employees around the world.
