ND SatCom and LCDC Telecoms Implement Enterprise Network in Africa |

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany, Oct. 6, 2006/Satnews Daily/ — ND SatCom, an SES Astra company and a supplier of satellite-based broadband VSAT, broadcast, government and defense communication network solutions, has been awarded a contract for VSAT systems from Evry (France) based LCDC Telecoms.
The French VSAT service provider supplies the end customer Maurel & Prom, one of the leading independent listed oil companies in Europe, with ND SatCom’s SkyWAN technology for its enterprise network in Central and East Africa. The VSAT system for voice and data covers the countries of Gabon, Congo and Tanzania.
Johann Vovan, sales support manager of LCDC Telecoms, said in terms of network transportation of VoIP, SkyWAN is the only equipment that can connect a network in a mesh configuration when there is only one satellite hop between terminals.
“With our experience in the supervision of networks, LCDC Telecoms has been researching various satellite platforms, and we chose ND SatCom as the preferred technology partner for corporate networks,” Ahmed Aggar, head of operations of LCDC Telecoms adds.
Dr. Gerhard Bommas, CTO of ND SatCom, emphasizes that the SkyWAN® network offers all possibilities of interfaces used in the oil industry.
