Telenor Satellite Selects Fabio Alencar to Oversee Business Operations in Brazil |

OSLO, Norway, Sept. 8, 2006/Satnews Daily/ — Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway (Oslo Stock Exchange: TEL and NASDAQ: TELN), has selected Fabio Alencar to head Telenor Satellite Services' Brazilian operations and to direct the company's channel sales efforts for South America.
With offices in Rio de Janeiro, Alencar now heads Telenor America Latina Comunicacoes Por Satelite LTDA and will focus on expanding Telenor sales of satellite communications services throughout Brazil and South America.
“Fabio Alencar brings more than 20 years of engineering, managerial, sales and business development experience in Brazil's satellite and telecommunications industries,” said Bo Norton, vice president of Channel Sales for the Americas for Telenor Satellite Services. “He has demonstrated a tremendous working knowledge of regulatory and licensing requirements and has a proven record of success in building business operations throughout Brazil.”
Alencar has previously held engineering positions with Embratel, and VICOM S.A., and has experience in business development and sales with Globo Cabo S.A., Intelsat Brasil, Hispamar Satelites, and most recently managed the Loterias da Caixa Network (national lottery project) for Comsat International.
