Spacenet Teams with Helius for Delivery of IP-Video Application Services

CHICAGO, May 23, 2006/Satnews Daily/ — Helius Inc., a developer of distributed IP video solutions for business, has partnered with Spacenet Inc., a services group of Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILT), to offer IP-Video services including digital signage, training and digital distribution applications.

With this partnership, the companies said, they are reducing the barriers to businesses deploying sophisticated digital video networks by seamlessly integrating Helius content management systems with Spacenet's efficient multicast transport.

Current Spacenet customers can easily add the Helius service and hardware components to deploy digital signage and training to distributed locations, while new customers seeking IP-Video solutions can take advantage of a robust integrated connectivity solution from Spacenet.

“Spacenet sees digital content delivery as a key strength and differentiator,” said Bill Gerety, president and CEO of Spacenet. He added that with Helius products, Spacenet will be able to deliver a full package of application services and IP-video integration.

Under the agreement, patented software from Helius will be used to connect terrestrial and satellite networks to deliver IP-video when and where it is needed. Service offerings from Spacenet will also provide single vendor solutions for hybrid satellite and terrestrial connectivity.
