Stefan Kollar Named Intersputnik Deputy Director General

MOSCOW, May 1, 2006/Satnews Daily/ V.E. Belov, director general of Intersputnik, has announced that the XXXIV session of the board of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications has elected Stefan Kollar of Czech Republic as deputy director general for a term of four years.

 

Belov said Stefan Kollar has been tasked to use his best efforts to expand and deepen cooperation with Intersputnik’s partners and customers.

 

Kollar graduated in 1979 from Moscow Electric Technical Institute of Communications, faculty of Radio Communications and Broadcasting and started his professional career as head of the antenna system group at the largest radio broadcasting station in Czechoslovakia.

 

Since 1982, Kollar worked for the Czechoslovakian Ministry of Communications as assistant to the first deputy minister and since1986 as the head of Operations of the Ministry’s Telecommunications Department. Under his guidance the automatic system for operations monitoring of the telecom network as well as the automatic network operation data processing systems of Czechoslovakia were put into operations. From 1988 to 1992, he was the head of the communication industry-working group responsible for the development of the quality metrics system for the operations of the Czechoslovakian telecom network.

 

Kollar started his career in the Intersputnik Directorate in 1992 as operations expert. He became counselor of the same department in 1995 and in January 1999 was appointed sales director. In 2006, he was appointed commercial director where he became responsible for the sales of the satellite capacity of Intersputnik. As commercial director, he had direct contacts with clients, marketing and advertising activities, and his authority also included the public and mass media relations.
