Com Dev Nabs $5.7-M Follow-on Order for U.S. Military Satellite Program

CAMBRIDGE, ON, March 9, 2006/Satnews Daily/ — Com Dev International Ltd. (TSX:CDV) has been awarded contracts to begin production of beam select subsystems and switch assemblies to Northrop Grumman for use in the third of three satellites in the U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Satellite Project.

Com Dev said the order is a follow-on award for the company, which first announced its participation in the AEHF program on May 22, 2002. Com Dev said it expects to generate approximately $5.7 million revenues by the time the project is completed at the end of fiscal 2007. Work will be split between Com Dev's Cambridge, Ontario and Aylesbury, UK locations.

“We consider this to be the highest possible endorsement of our ability to meet our customers' needs,” said John Keating, CEO of Com Dev. “Military satellite programs, in which we have made strategic gains in recent years, tend to generate more follow-on business than our traditional commercial market.”
