IDC Names New Board Members |

OTTAWA, Feb. 28, 2006/Satnews Daily/ — International Datacasting Corp. (TSX:IDC) named on Monday two senior industry experts who will be joining the IDC board of directors. They are Peter Liebel, a prominent investment banker and expert in corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions specializing in telecommunications, and information technology and Neil Bauer, a long-time CEO and senior executive in the satellite industry with links to the major operators and service providers.
Both appointments have been approved and recommended by the IDC board and are subject to the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange. Liebel has already joined the board to fill the vacancy left by JP Soubliere, who left late last year to become chairman of the board of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited. Bauer will join the board immediately in an advisory capacity and will be formally nominated for election at the next Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders which is anticipated to be held in early June 2006, IDC said.
Peter Liebel is a seasoned investment banker with significant experience in corporate finance as well as mergers and acquisitions. He is head of the Technology & Telecommunications Investment Banking Group at Dundee Securities -- one of Canada's largest full service independent investment banks -- specializing in mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate finance services to public and private companies in Canada and the United States. From 1999-2004, he was executive director technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking at CIBC World Markets and from 1996-1999 he served as VP & director of Telecom & Technology Investment Banking at First Marathon Securities.
He holds a Masters degree from the London School of Economics, where he attended as a Commonwealth Scholar, and a Bachelors (Honors) degree from McGill University (Gold Medalist).
Neil Bauer is a well-known and successful executive in the international satellite industry with over twenty years of experience. He is currently president of Orion Associates, where he provides consulting services to investment firms and satellite operators. Clients include The Blackstone Group, McKinsey & Company, Intelsat, Eutelsat and Mabuhay Satellite. From 1998 through 2002, Bauer was president & CEO of Loral CyberStar and a corporate officer of Loral Space & Communications. He strategically guided Loral CyberStar into the broadband multimedia marketplace, focusing on the growing data-service requirements of global enterprises and Internet service providers. Bauer led Loral CyberStar to a leading position in delivering global IP-based broadband, streaming media and multicast services via satellite.
He holds a BS in Industrial Management from the University of Dayton and an MBA from Temple University.
